Update [16 August 2022]
New Inspection Regime for Personal Information on the Companies Register maintained by the Companies Registry under the Companies Ordinance (Cap. 622) is being implemented in 3 phrases from Aug 2021 through end 2023. Consequently, usual residential addresses of directors will be replaced by correspondence addresses whereas full identification numbers of directors and others will be replaced by partial identification numbers. In addition, protected/withheld information would only be accessible by 'Specified Persons' upon application with the Companies Registry.

The Companies (Amendment) Ordinance 2018, effective on 1 March 2018, requires Hong Kong incorporated companies to identify persons who have significant control/influence over the company and to maintain and update a Significant Controllers Register to be accessile by law enforcement officers upon demand.
